What does the scanner do?
Place the palm of your hand in front of the Scanner’s safe, low-energy blue light, and you will obtain an immediate reading of the carotenoid antioxidant levels in your skin, also known as your Skin Carotenoid Score.
Why should I be Scanned?
What your SCS Means
Your Skin Carotenoid Score (SCS) is a convenient and useful indication of the tissue carotenoid concentration and antioxidant status in your body.
Your SCS is reflective of long-term lifestyle habits and is not subject to changes during short periods of hours or days. Scanning every six to eight weeks is ideal to help you determine whether you are consuming an adequate amount of antioxidant-containing nutrients through diet and supplementation.
The Free Radical Problem
Each day, we are exposed to free radicals. Many physical aging effects are the result of free radical damage. Regardless of how healthy we are, our bodies suffer free radical damage every single day.
The result of the scanner score is what is called a “skin carotenoid score” somewhere in the range of <10,000 to 90,000 photon units. These “photon units” correspond to the amount of carotenoid pigments in the skin layer. This science is based on a complicated branch of optics called Raman Spectroscopy. Based on correlation studies, the biophotonic scanner actually reflects the overall health of the defense network inside your body.
A careful review of the latest scientific evidence from many sources shows that the overwhelming majority of chronic degenerative diseases, including heart disease, stroke, diabetes, many forms of cancer, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and more have their origins in excess oxidative stress damaging the body.
